About UsThis is the tale of how the mighty Spotasaurus was born.....
One ominous winter day, a software salesman was rounding the corner near his office building just south of Union Square in New York City only to find that the trusty parking garage right across the street from his office was closed. Although he was in state of horror and confusion, the salesman rounded the corner knowing that many more garages were close by and that he would undoubtedly find another lot to park in. He did love that lot though. It was incredibly convenient, just a quick jump across the street to the office. It had a $14 dollar a day Early Bird special (really good for NYC) and generous attendants who let the $10 SUV surcharge slide as he was a loyal and well tipping customer. But alas, it was gone and time to move on. If only it were that easy....
What happened next was was the motiviating kick in the proverbial butt...
For the next week, the salesman drove a ten block radius around his office. What he encountered was horrifying. The Early Bird specials where few and far between. The attendants where rough and surly and refused to yield on the SUV surcharge. The garages that did have reasonable rates where blocks and blocks away. Now while a few blocks is not a long walk, it seems like the Appalachian trail in a good rainstorm while lugging one's demonstration equipment and dressed in one of your best suits! Garage after garage, lot after lot, disappointment after disappointment. Finally, the salesman found a suitable lot, tucked away in a rental car dealership a mere block and half away with a better early bird special and quite possibly the best monthly rate in the city.
But then the light bulb went on! There has to be an easier way the salesman thought! Why not use the internets! There may even be a better lot he doesn't know about! Much to his surprise there really wasn't a better way. Not a single website that was in any way useful to solve his problem. He soon realized that others must surely have the same problem and like any good salesman, he liked to solve problems—for money.
The salesman worked in software and knew a thing or two about how to get a website built, but he knew he needed big time help. He called up one of his good friends from college, the Mighty Chuckie- an advertising creative-and invited him to dinner at their favorite BBQ joint in Harlem. After an evening of food and festivities (think beer) the bellies were full, the site was conceived, named Spotasaurus.com and the mission clear. Well....maybe a bit hazy that night but very, very clear the next day.
